It involved nine American infantry divisions, and cost 24,000 young Americans their lives over a period of ninety days. The 2nd Ranger Btn was sent in early December 1944 and attached to the 28th ID. On Dec. 6th, six companies of the Rangers ascended Hill 400 to take it from German hands. This figure is based on a photo from German Uniforms of World War 2 by Andrew Mollo.<br> I started with DML's Baldur figure and his reed green denim panzer uniform. I used Testor's enamels to repaint the details of his face. The eyes were repainted for a more realistic look and I sealed them with Crystal Clear to give it depth.
